So as a trained Herbalist I love everything natural. It's why I chose to only use natural products post op hysterectomy.
As I couldn't get into the shops I went online, explained what I'd had home under and they happily posted out the products I needed and the homeopathic practitioner even called to recommend an alternative cream to the one I ordered which was better for me.
Pre Op U had been taking Papaya chewable tablets 1x3 a day for my digestive health along with a Vitamin and mineral supplement that includes magnesium, Vitamin D, calcium and B13. All bought on IHerb #notanad
So back to post op I ordered my herbs either through IHerb in the US or Down to Earth here in Dublin.
I used silver mist or silver collodial spray as it's a great anti bacterial to clean my wounds before using approx 20 drops off Lavender Essential Oil in a carrier oil,you can use coconut, vegetable, olive oil etc. I used Coconut as we always have a tub in the house. I then allowed the lavender to soak in before applying Helios Calendula Hypericum (Marigold and St. John's Wort) cream which helped with the nerve pain around my suture sites.
Under homeopathic supervision I was taking Arnica internally 200c 1x3 a day for 10 days to help with all the internal bruising. I also use this amazing smelling Lavender moisturiser from IHerb plus shampoo and conditioner, picturedpictured. I also use Auromere soaps .They have a huge range for all skin types and conditions.I'm just in love with their Turmeric one and Black African soap full of oats and plantain, great for dry, itchy skin.
As we all know keeping those suture sites clean and dry is of the utmost importance if you wish to avoid any infections.
I'm now 6 weeks and 1 day Post Op and honestly feel better than I have in about a decade!
Here's a pic of what I mentioned above.
